Mission

Disseminate the knowledge produced by the scientific community in the areas of Agrarian and Environmental Sciences.

Focus and scope

The Journal of Agricultural Sciences / Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is a scientific journal of continuous flow published by the Dean of Research and Technological Development of the Federal Rural University of Amazonia (UFRA).

The Journal of Agrarian Sciences began in 1971 as a Bulletin of the Amazonian School of Agronomy, becoming the Bulletin of the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences of Pará in 1972, with the transformation of the Amazonian School of Agronomy to the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of Pará. In 1999 became known as the Journal of Agrarian Sciences.

It is intended for the dissemination of works generated from original research, developed both in the Amazon region and in other Brazilian regions and / or in other countries. The areas of coverage are:

  • Agronomy
  • Environmental Sciences Applied to Agriculture
  • Veterinary Medicine
  • Forest Resources and Forest Engineering
  • Zootecnia and Fishing Resources
  • Related areas related to animal and vegetable production.

Submissions can be of different types: original articles, scientific notes and review. Please note that submission and publication fees are not charged.

Indexing

The Journal of Agricultural Sciences / Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is indexed in the CABI - Agricultural Economics Database, CABI - CAB Direct, Diadorim, OasisBR, Latindex and DOAJ databases.

Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to the Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences undergo an initial selection by the editor-in-chief prior to the process of submission to section editors. This prior selection is made considering the adherence to the scope of the journal, as well as compliance with the standards, originality and impact of the scientific contribution, graphic quality of the material, text quality, relevance and updating of the literature cited.

The articles in the initial selection then go to the section editors, who will manage the peer review process. At this stage, the paper will first be evaluated by up to three reviewers from the research knowledge area, from different educational and / or research institutions. Following the submission of the opinion by the reviewers, the section editor will have the autonomy to arbitrate on the reviewers' opinions and decide if the work is to be published (with appropriate corrections if any) or will be rejected.

Frequency

The journal Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, as of 2018, publishes by streaming, publishing one volume per year, with ISSN 2177-8760.

Plagiarism

Before submitting a paper, it is recommended that you observe the COPE statement on ethics and good practices for organizing and writing work. To do so, please refer to http://publicationethics.org/. This journal observes and does not accept the publication of: fabricated data, falsified data, duplicate or redundant publication, plagiarism, conflicts of authorship or interest, ghost authors, undercover authors or authors and / or co-authors who did not contribute to the work.

This journal used the PLAGIUS PROFESSIONAL ® program for plagiarism detection. If plagiarism is detected in the manuscript, it will be rejected and the authors informed.

Principles of transparency and good publishing practice

Language

The Journal of Agricultural Sciences Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences accepts the manuscript submissions in Portuguese and English, but article publications only in English language.

Open access policy and open science

The Revista de Ciências Agrárias / Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences offers free and free access to all content of its scientific publications, providing democratization in access to scientific knowledge.

All content of the scientific journal Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences will be licensed under a Creative Commons License, type CC-BY, for all content of the journal, allowing authors and readers to distribute, adapt and create from the article published in RCA / AJAES, not forgetting to mention the appropriate sources.

We emphasize that from November 2020, the Revista de Ciências Agrárias (Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences) will publish in the final article the name (s) of the editors responsible for the respective evaluation, as an important step in line with the Open Science movement.

Research data storage policy

Following the guidelines of Open Science, whenever possible, RCA / AJAES encourages authors to share all the data in their article. It is important that at least one of the authors have full access to all study data, taking responsibility for its integrity and accuracy of the analysis. The data used in the research, if not deposited in public repositories, must be available upon request from RCA / AJAES.

Archiving

This journal uses the LOCKSS system to create a distributed file system among participating libraries and allows them to create permanent journal archives for preservation and restoration.

Copyrights and Permissions

The journal allows the author (s) to retain copyright without restrictions.

Manuscript Submission

When the article is in accordance with the “Editorial Policy” and “Guidelines for Authors” of this Journal, its submission should be made through the following email address: http://periodicos.ufra.edu.br/index.php / ajaes / index. The Amazonian Journal of Agricultural Sciences uses the Electronic Journal Publishing System (SEER), customized by the Brazilian Institute of Information Science and Technology (IBICT), from Open Journal Access (OJS) version 3.1. 1-2, developed by the Public Knowledge Project. In this system, the author must first register in order to obtain login and password.

When accessing the system, just pay attention to the data to be filled and attach the necessary documents. Upon submission, an automatic confirmation message is sent to the author via email. We emphasize the importance of inserting the ORCID, of all authors, at the time of data filling.
