Potential of biosolids as planting fertilizer for Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi
Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of increasing doses of biosolids on the development of Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi seedlings. The experiment was installed in a completely randomized design, consisting of four treatments with six replications. The treatments consisted of a control; 1.5; 3.0 and 6.0 liters of biosolids per 18 liter vessel. Every two months, the height of the aerial part and the diameter of the collar were measured for up to 8 months. At four months, soil samples were collected from the pots to evaluate the nutrient content. In the last evaluation, plants were collected and leaf area, shoot and root dry matter were measured. Growth data and nutrient content as a function of biosolid doses were submitted to analysis of variance and regression. There was a significant difference for growth in stem diameter, leaf area and shoot dry matter and nutrient content. It was found that the higher the dose, the better the results found. It is recommended the dose of 6 liters of biosolids as planting fertilizer for Schinus terebinthifolia seedlings, taking into account the conditions under which the study was carried out.
